Jennifer Lopez welcomed the 46th president Joe Biden with tears of joy during Wednesday’s (Jan. 20) Inauguration ceremony.

Escorted by a U.S. Coast guard to the front steps of the United States Capital in Washington D.C., Lopez belted a patriotic medley of “This Land Is Your Land” and “America, The Beautiful”. During her set, J.Lo declared “Justicia para todos!” (“Justice for all!”) before defying into her lyrics from her 2000 hit “Let’s Get Loud”. Those who attended the ceremony included former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.

Across the city at the John F. Kennedy Center on Tuesday (Jan 19), Common, John Legend, and Rhymefest performed “Glory” alongside the National Symphony Orchestra.

Joseph R. Biden, Jr. officially takes office as the 46th President of the United States while Kamala Harris takes her seat as the 49th Vice President, the first female, black and asian-american.
