Sugar are back. Last fall, Bob Mould announced that his short-lived post-Hüsker Dü band were gearing up for a big reunion that would include a tour and a couple of new songs. Last night at New York’s Webster Hall, the alt-rock trio played both those new songs live for the first time at their first show in 31 years.
Sugar’s setlist gave pretty equal recognition to their two studio albums Copper Blue and File Under: Easy Listening, plus their 1995 B-sides compilation Besides. See footage from the audience as well as the full setlist below. (Drummer Malcolm Travis collapsed and fell around the 43-minute mark in the first video below, but he got back up and carried on shortly after.)
