Karen Salicath Jamali, the award-winning composer and pianist, has released a new piano composition titled “Mary’s Blessing.” The piece is unique in its origin, arriving to her in a dream before being captured on her Steinway piano. For Karen, this dream-born creativity is part of a larger journey that began after a near-death experience in 2012, which awakened her ability to compose and play music despite never having studied piano before.
The new composition carries themes of love, presence, and protection. In her dream, the music appeared as a reminder of a nurturing energy watching over us, which she has translated into sound. The cover art further extends this vision, featuring one of her sculptures, Mary, symbolizing tenderness, strength, and the intimate bond between mother and child.
“Mary’s Blessing” was mastered by Maria Triana, an engineer recognized for her work with music legends such as Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, and Diana Ross, alongside contemporary stars like Camila Cabello, Sting, and Whitney Houston. This collaboration highlights the respect and reach Karen’s music continues to earn across artistic circles.
Since her creative awakening, Karen has released eight albums, composed more than 2,500 works, and performed solo at Carnegie Hall eight times. Her compositions embrace the idea that sound is a universal connector, carrying energy that unites people, planets, and stars. She views music as a healing force, a philosophy reflected in both her piano works and her multidisciplinary artistic practice as a sculptor, painter, and photographer.
In addition to music, Karen has also expanded into fashion with the launch of her brand Karen Salicath. Her debut Angel Collection, designed in Italy, carries the same vision as her music: to connect people to inner peace, beauty, and spiritual strength. With “Mary’s Blessing,” Karen Salicath Jamali continues to offer works that inspire reflection, comfort, and a sense of shared humanity through sound and art.
