Steph Curry Ties Michael Jordan Record By Playing Like Hayley Williams

During last Friday night’s NBA Cup game, the Golden State Warriors beat the San Antonio Spurs 109-108, and in the process, Steph Curry also tied Michael Jordan’s record of 44 40-point games in the NBA after age 30. I promise there’s a music-related angle to this! During the post-game press conference, someone asked Curry which famous lead singer he’d be if the Warriors were a band. Curry thought about it for a second, saying “it depends on the night,” before landing on his final answer: “I was Hayley Williams in Paramore tonight.”

Curry, in fact, has briefly shared the stage with Williams before. It’s tradition for Paramore to bring out a special guest during their shows to sing the bridge to “Misery Business,” and two years ago in San Fransisco, Curry was the special guest in question.

In more Williams-related news, she’s about to go on her first-ever solo tour promoting her new album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party. But first, she performed a stripped-down three-song set at Seth and Lauren Rogen’s Hilarity For Charity benefit for Alzheimer’s awareness in Los Angeles. She sang “Glum” live for the first time, and also did piano-accompanied versions of “True Believer” and “Love Me Different.” See that below.
