Orphan Donor Announce New Album ‘Ailments’: Hear “Show Me The Way”

Way back in 2021, Orphan Donor dropped their frantic sophomore album Unraveled. Since then, the Pennsylvania metallic screamo band have not released much music. There was a noisy, guttural one-off single last year called “Vomit In The Cathedral Of Nous,” but until today, that was it.

Now a whole new Orphan Donor LP is on the way. The band — now expanded from a duo to a sextet — will deliver Ailments in just a few weeks. Ahead of the drop date, they’ve given us advance track “Show Me The Way,” which spends about a minute in an ominous, discordant post-hardcore zone before breaking open into chaos. The band’s Kevin Morris (also of Motel Bible and Full Of Hell) offers this take on the new LP:

Ailments is a concept record about the terrifying and psychedelic experience of aging, our influence on the world around us, and the weight of the loss of those we love as they get older too- oftentimes these experiences happening in parallel. Ailments seeks to deal with the frailty of our bodies and minds in this context, while being held together by a thread of appreciation for our experience to exist to begin with.

Hear “Show Me The Way” and last year’s one-off single below.
