Summer in Oakland.
Summer’s gone, but Kamaiyah revisits its most memorable times on her latest album, Another Summer Night.
The album features the Oakland rapper’s previously released “Groupies” and “XXL Letterman“. Among the 17 tracks included are “Steppin“, “Come Fuck Me”, “Every Friday”, “Come Alive”, and more.
Kamaiyah reunites with Jay Worthy on the opening track, “Raining Game In California”, 03 Greedo makes two appearances with “Lamborghini Dreams”, and “Whole Lotta M’s”, and Hot Boy Zay indulges on “Take A Sip”.
Says Kamaiyah, “I took a year break, and during that process, I listened to fans to fill the deficit of what they wanted. One, they clearly wanted another album that mirrored A Good Night In The Ghetto, and two, they wanted consistency. This project is the inception of both, she says. “Another Summer Night is the graduation of A Good Night In The Ghetto, and the beginning of the new life me and my supporters will have together. I don’t know where this new life will take us, but one thing I do know is we will have fun getting there.”
Another Summer Night is Kamaiyah’s first solo project since last year’s EPs, Keep It Lit and Divine Timing. In October, she connected with Jay Worthy for their collaborative album, The Am3rican Dream produced by Harry Fraud.
