After a few weeks off, Verzuz makes its return on Juneteenth for the powerful showdown between John Legend and Alicia Keys.
For the first unisex session, the two multi-platinum and Grammy-award winning artists brought their pianos alongside one another for 20 rounds of their greatest hits from Legend’s “Ordinary People”, “So High”, and “Glory” to Keys’ “A Woman’s Worth”, “If I Ain’t Got You”, “You Don’t Know My Name”, and many more.
John Legend who released his latest album, Bigger Than Love today, capped off the evening running its closing track, “Never Break”. Meanwhile, Alicia Keys’ played her new single,”Perfect Way To Die“, which was also released today. After over two hours of hits, TIDAL shares the evening’s official 40-track playlist.
Spearheaded by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, Verzuz, is a virtual musical celebration between two elite invited artists running down their catalogue of hits. Verzuz included the previous Kirk Franklin vs. Fred Hammond, 112 vs. Jagged Edge, the soundclash between Bounty Killer vs Beenie Man, Ludacris vs. Nelly, Erykah Badu vs Jill Scott, and the record-breaking R&B bout, Babyface vs. Teddy Riley.
Verzuz also included Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, Boi-1da vs Hit-Boy, The-Dream vs Sean Garrett, Ne-Yo vs. Johnta Austin, Mannie Fresh vs. Scott Storch, T-Pain vs. Lil Jon, and the Hip Hop favorite, RZA vs DJ Premier.
