Beak>’s Billy Fuller Announces Debut Solo Album Fragments: Hear “Rummer”

For 16 years across four studio albums, Billy Fuller has been the founding bassist of the British experimental rockers Beak> (though his career has also taken him through collaborations with a bunch of other artists). Beak> are still going strong for the time being, but today Fuller has announced his debut solo album Fragments, set to arrive in April. Lead single “Rummer” is out now.

Of the new album — which Fuller made himself in his home studio — he says in a press release: “I’m making music like I always do. I have no idea who or what it’s for, like always,” which is as good a reason as any to make an album. “Rummer,” by his own admission, is heavily inspired by Kraftwerk, made with a bass, a drum machine, and a Korg micro preset. It’s a pleasant, wordless earworm that you can hear for yourself below.
