Fatboy Slim’s Rolling Stones Mashup Released After 27 Years

Records show that way back in 1998, during a set he was DJing in Ibiza, Norman Cook spun a track called “Satisfaction Skank” — a mashup of his big beat Fatboy Slim hit from that year, “Rockafeller Skank,” with the Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” He discussed the track in a 2024 video interview saying it was at least 25 years old and was “possibly one of [his] greatest mashups.” But Fatboy Slim was never able to officially release the song, adding in that same interview: “There’s ongoing negotiations with the Rolling Stones. And Mick, if you’re watching this, call me and we can talk.” Fast forward to now, and — forgive me for this — they’ve worked it out on the remix.

Unfortunately the belated release of “Satisfaction Skank” comes alongside an AI-generated music video. It features generated footage of a young, shirtless Keith Richards as well as the still-unidentified (!) Fat People’s Festival 1983 attendee from the You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby album cover doing the “eating spaghetti” AI trope.

“Satisfaction Skank” is also available on 12”, but that doesn’t ship until February, so for holiday gifting purposes you could instead consider “Satisfaction” the fragrance. It’s one of five unisex smells the Stones released in a “Subversive Scents” line this year. Yes, the other four are also named after Stones songs. There are 14 more shopping days until Christmas if you care:
