In just a couple of days, the noisy-skronky Chicago post-hardcore outfit ira glass will release their bugged-out new EP joy is no knocking nation. The early singles “fd&c red 40” and “fritz all over you” were nervous, convulsive attacks, and the same is true of “that’s it/that? that’s all you can say?,” the new song that they’ve got out today.
“that’s it/that? that’s all you can say?” is a wild ride — screeches and pummels and saxophone eruptions. It’s the kind of erratic, personality-forward noise-rock that could’ve come out on Troubleman Unlimited in 2002, which I think is cool. The kids of 2025 deserve their own Arab On Radar, their own Milemarker, their own Sweep The Leg Johnny. Check it out below.
