On Sunday afternoon, Los Angeles police arrested an unidentified 30-year-old woman outside Rihanna’s mansion, just north of Beverly Hills. Police say that the woman fired several shots at Rihanna’s house when the pop star was inside with her children. According to LA’s ABC 7, nobody was hurt in the shooting, and bullets only hit the exterior of the house and a vehicle parked outside.
Police are investigating the motive for the shooting, which is not immediately clear. Police answered the call about the shooting at 1:15PM and took the woman into custody. The New York Times reports that the woman’s gun was turned over to the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division. The Times also notes that Rihanna’s house was broken into twice in 2018. Rihanna has not made a public statement about the shooting.
It’s great that nobody was injured, but I’ve had bullets hit my apartment before (a bunch of apartments ago), and that shit is stressful as hell! Especially if you’ve got kids in there! So please don’t shoot a gun at Rihanna’s house, or at anybody else’s house for that matter.
UPDATE: The LA County District Attorney’s Office said on Tuesday (March 10) that Ivanna Lisette Ortiz has been charged with one count of attempted murder, 10 felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firear, and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper. She is being held on $1.875 million bail and will be arraigned on March 25.
