Panic! At The Disco has been crafting anthemic music since their formation in 2004, and nearly two decades later, the band shows no signs of slowing down. On Wednesday, the theatrical outfit released their latest single, “Middle of a Breakup,” accompanied by a Grease-inspired music video that captures the band’s signature flair.
This new track, led by frontman Brandon Urie, serves as the second single from their highly anticipated seventh studio album, Viva Las Vengeance, which is slated for release this August. To mark the occasion, the band is set to perform an outdoor concert at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
“Middle of a Breakup” delivers an upbeat, infectious sound paired with a vibrant, nostalgic visual aesthetic. You can view the music video below:
Viva Las Vengeance marks a significant milestone as the band’s first full-length project since 2018’s Pray For The Wicked. That previous release represented a pivotal shift for the group, establishing Urie as a solo act operating under the iconic moniker.
Reflecting on the creative process behind the new record, Urie shared, “‘Viva Las Vengeance’ is a look back at who I was 17 years ago and who I am now with the fondness I didn’t have before. I didn’t realize I was making an album and there was something about the tape machine that kept me honest.”
According to the official press release, the introspective LP—distributed via Fueled By Ramen—explores the delicate balance between embracing one’s youth and the inevitable risk of burnout. As Urie prepares to embark on a 40-date global arena tour, fans are eagerly awaiting the full release of what promises to be a defining chapter in the band’s storied career.
