After three years of laying low, Joey Badass clears his mind, body and soul with three new tracks, packaged as The Light Pack.
For the opening track produced by Statik Selektah, “The Light” comes with a powerful music video which depicts Joey at a voodoo ceremony for some soul searching and reflecting on his hiatus.
Meanwhile, Pusha T joins Badmon for “No Explanation” where two elite MCs trade fiery bars over a hard-hitting beat by Swizz Beatz and Sean C & LV.
The jazzy-infused “Shine” closes out the package and finds the Brooklyn rapper balancing past struggles and fame over a flip of a Roy Ayers classic by Statik Selektah.
This marks Joey’s first official solo release since his 2017 album, ALL-AMERIKKAN BADA$$. Last May, he contributed to the Beast Coasts’ Escape From New York , a compilation LP by his Pro Era camp, Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers.
