Prince continues his legacy on his new single, “Born 2 Die”.
Accompanied by bassist Tal Wilkenfeld, drummer Chris Coleman, and vocalists Shelby J., Liv Warfield and Elisa Fiorillo, the legendary singer reflects on the ongoing struggles in Black Community, which was recording back in 2010.
“He had been watching videos of his friend Dr. Cornel West on YouTube, and during one speech Dr. West said, ‘I love my brother Prince, but he’s no Curtis Mayfield’, stated in a press release. So Prince said, ‘Oh really? We will see.’”
The track follows the title-track off Prince’s upcoming posthumous album, Welcome 2 America dropping July 30.
