Following the success of her 2024 release Loaded Dice—which featured the collaborative Beach Bunny track “Beloved”—NYC-based singer-songwriter Hank Heaven has returned with a poignant new single titled “Thread.”
The track serves as a vulnerable exploration of the inescapable nature of memory. “I wrote ‘Thread’ while being plagued by the memory of someone,” Heaven shared regarding the inspiration behind the song. “It felt like no matter what I did, I was reminded of them. I saw their reminiscence in life’s most ordinary moments: doing my laundry, walking around my neighborhood. Even the concept of getting better became a reminder of them. The song is both a declaration and an act of release.”
“Thread” features a sophisticated production touch from Phil Weinrobe, known for his work with artists like Adrienne Lenker and Big Thief. The sonic landscape is bolstered by a talented ensemble, including Sean Mullins on drums, Adam Brisbin and Mike Haldeman on guitars, Nuria Graham on bass, and Bobby Hawk on violin.
The release is accompanied by a music video directed by Weston Borg. You can watch the official video below:
