The famously irascible Morgan Wallen has been making headlines for his low temper as of late. Last week, he went viral for flipping a piano in Denver, though it was technically a piano shell containing a Nord keyboard. On Friday (June 5), the controversial country star played Pittsburgh and went viral for snatching a phone from a security guard’s hands and throwing it across the stage.

At the Acrisure Stadium, the security guard was holding her phone in the air, seemingly filming Wallen with her front-facing camera when he intervened. In Wallen’s defense, that is pretty obnoxious, and he was struck with a phone back in 2024 while performing. But that wasn’t the only controversy he stirred up this weekend. On Saturday (June 6), he canceled his second night at the Acrisure Stadium due to “severe adverse weather conditions” that never materialized.

Fans were angry, rumors swirled, and sources said that Wallen fled the city before they even had meeting and demanded the cancellation was announced after he was in the air. In a video on his Instagram Story, he addressed the drama:

This morning, my team walked on the bus and told me they had been consulting with local officials and that I should cancel my show in Pittsburgh tonight and I said, “Why?” They said that there was going to be strong winds in the area, and I said, “OK.” So, that’s what I did, and that was the information I had in that moment, and I trusted my team. I understand that that wind and whatever else hasn’t gotten to Pittsburgh yet, I know it has touched some of Pennsylvania so my heart goes out to all those affected by it. But the truth of the matter is, I have a large stage that, in those conditions, could become fatal to a lot of folks around it. So, I did the best I could with the information I had in that moment. I’ve been seeing a lot of nonsense about me that is simply not true and I just wanted to clear the air. I think my true fans know that that’s not how I operate in general, but I had to say it.

WXPI also reported that crews were setting up for Wallen’s concert at the stadium when 15,000 honeybees were found. That was likely an additional complication for the production team.
