It’s Drake verse J.Cole in the epic music video to their hit collaboration, “First Person Shooter”.
Directed by Gibson Hazard, the theatrical clip begins with skit from actor Brian Baumgartner before Drizzy and Jermaine got at it in a ping pong match and a game of chess in reference to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s chess photo. The competition soon takes to a packed Scotiabank Arena and in front of a magnificent view of Toronto.
“Niggas so thirsty to put me in beef / Dissecting my words and start looking too deep,” raps Cole from a boxing ring and a scene inspired by the Spider-Man pointing meme. “I look at the tweets and start sucking my teeth I’m letting it rock ’cause I love the mystique,” the Dreamvillian continues.
Drake hits the city’s subway with a pack of dogs before ascending above The 6 rapping, “Will they ever give me flowers? Well, of course not / They don’t wanna have that talk, ’cause it’s a sore spot / They know The Boy, the one they gotta boycott I told Jimmy Jam I use a GRAMMY as a door stop.”
The 6 God also does Michael Jackson’s signature spin and kick dance move in reference to the song recently earning the rapper his 13th No. 1 single, which ties the late Pop star with the most ever by a male artist in Billboard history.
“First Person Shooter” is off Drake’s latest and chart-topping album, For All The Dogs featuring 21 Savage, SZA, Lil Yachty, Bad Bunny, and more. Both Drake and J.Cole recently announced their joint tour “It’s All A Blur: Big As The What?” which will hit a special run of cities in the U.S. beginning in January.
Drake has also announced his next project, Scary Hours 3 which he plans to drop this Friday (Nov. 17)
