Ivory Coast-born rising star, singer-songwriter, actress, and writer Aicha Dosso’s debut single is titled “Bien”. Growing up in Paris, France, Parisian cabaret music has always been part of Aicha’s everyday life, especially considering her parents were admirers of Edith Piaf.

The young artist even considers it her true calling to revive the forgotten art of Parsian-style musical cabaret. So, “Bien” offered a perfect opportunity to do so, but the multitalented cosmopolitan artist added her own touch to the mix and incorporated her favorite New York City inspired vibe. Both Paris and New York have a huge place in her heart as after studying English at La Sorbonne, she moved to New York to study acting at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. 

Aicha describes her connection with the two cultures as “Living in two languages – French and English – has been of great importance to me as a writer and as a performer,” she claims. “While Parisian cabaret songs are, in a way, my natural environment – I was immersed in it since childhood as my parents were great admirers of Edith Piaf – I feel I can add a special New York flavor to my songs. Learning to express myself in English opened up a space for emotions that I could not release in my native language. The boldness of English made me adventurous and allowed me to say things in my French- language songs that I could not articulate before,” explains the promising artist.
