EsDeeKid stormed the castle at his Rolling Loud debut this weekend at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, FL. The Scouse rapper, who is not Timothée Chalamet despite some strong evidence, gave a striking performance on Friday, May 8. He arrived with a full-scale castle backdrop, a posse of knights in shining armor, and a flaming sword, signaling a major step forward in his rapidly ascending career. He has come a long way in a short period of time, having played his first headline show less than a year ago and his first US show less than five months ago.
During the set, he debuted an unreleased song titled “Rock Wave” and brought out his frequent collaborator Rico Ace for a series of tracks, including “Phantom,” “LV Sandals,” “Cali Man,” “Mist,” and “Dope Boyz.” Fans online have speculated that the elaborate medieval theme might be a direct reference to the Castles I / Castles II projects by Lil Peep and Lil Tracy. Last year, Ace and EsDeeKid recreated a famous photo of the two iconic SoundCloud rappers, and their song “Cali Man” even features the lyric, “Posted in a castle with me fuckin cousin Bloodkiss.”
