Fat Dog Deliver A Bouncy, Ecstatic Surprise With “Go Fuck Urself”

“Go Fuck Urself,” the latest single from UK dance-punk provocateurs Fat Dog, is a masterclass in tonal subversion. Despite the aggressive title, the track eschews the expected grit for a bouncy, ecstatic synthpop soundscape anchored by a massive, festival-ready chorus. It is, in a word, friendly—a juxtaposition that arguably serves as the ultimate form of disrespect: inviting thousands of fans to sing along to a command that is anything but polite.

Since the release of their 2024 debut album WOOF., Fat Dog have maintained a steady momentum with a series of one-off singles, including “Peace Song” and “Pray To That.” The band’s creative orbit has also expanded to include various side projects, such as ELLiS·D and Morgan Noise. With a busy touring schedule on the horizon—including high-profile support slots for Foo Fighters and Kneecap—the timing for this new release feels deliberate and sharp.

Frontman Joe Love co-produced the track alongside Oli Bayston, known for his work with artists like Olivia Dean and Rachel Chinouriri. The accompanying music video, directed by the team of Dylan Coates and Travis Barton (Nine Screens), leans into the band’s theatrical sensibilities. Featuring Love in a cowboy hat and leather vest, the visual finds the band and a troupe of cheerleaders performing in a wrestling ring, all while lookalikes of various pop stars observe with performative disapproval.
