To accompany his new film, A Compton Story, JasonMartin, formerly known as Problem, releases the the to his self-directed movie in its entirety.
To coincide the release of the film in early November, the Compton rapper released 15 tracks featuring the previously released “More Dollars More Sense 1994“, a modern day version of DJ Quik’s 1995 “Dolla + Sense“ produced by Quik and featuring Childish Gambino. Other tracks include “Miller 2010”, “I Can’t Believe (They’re Smoking Weed In Brooklyn)”, and more with contributions from Diddy, Hit-Boy, T.I., Harry Fraud, Jay Worthy, LNDN DRGS, Rich Homie Quan, Tank, DJ Battlecat, and more.
Two weeks later, he’s now released the remainder of the soundtrack featuring 16 additional tracks including “G.R.E.A.M. 2008” featuring Wiz Khalifa and new features by Schoolboy Q, Terrace Martin, Too Short, Xzibit, Ne-Yo, D Smoke, DJ Quik, Macy Gray, Daylyt, IAmSu!, ChaseTheMoney, and Valee among others. He also releases the video to “G.O.D. 2003“.
Narrated by Mike Epps, A Compton Story , is a comedy and drama film that centers JasonMartin during a typical day in the CPT. It also co-stars Snoop Dogg, Mike Epps, Deray Davis, Xzibit and more. This marks the rappers second project of the year. In May, Martin connected with The Melodiks for their collaborative album, I Owe Myself.
