Missy Elliott is on her way to The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

On Wednesday (May 3), the prestigious Cleveland-based music museum revealed the inductee from their Class of 2023 including the rap icon, Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against The Machine, The Spinners, and more.

After the announcement, the 51-year-old rapper, producer, and songwriter took to her Twitter handle to share her reaction.

“I want to say this is HUGE not for just me but all my Sisters in HIPHOP,” she gratefully tweeted. “This door is now OPEN to showcase the hard work & what many of us contribute to MUSIC. I have cried all morning because I am GRATEFUL. Thank you @rockhall & all on the committee & Supafriends”

Those who will also be honored during the ceremony on November 3 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center include Chaka Khan, who will receive the Musical Excellence Award, DJ Kool Herc for the Musical Influence Award, and the late Don Cornelius for the Ahmet Ertegun Award, among others.

Missy Elliott who becomes the first female hip hop-artist to be inducted, joins her fellow hip hop inductees including the late rappers Tupac Shakur (2017) and The Notorious B.I.G. (2020), both JAY-Z and LL Cool J who were inducted in 2021, and Eminem in 2022.
