Halle makes her long-awaited solo debut with her uplifting single and video, “Angel”.
Directed by Wendy Morgan, one-half of the R&B sister duo Chloe x Halle counts her blessings in a series of striking scenes and looks
“Black girl here, Black girl with the Black girl hair / Took a little sun kiss just to look like this
God-sent, you’re an angel,” she sings before the clip ends with vintage footage of a young Halle.
“Angel” arrives following the success from Halle’s lead role as Ariel in Disney’s recent adaption, The Little Mermaid and her critically-acclaimed remake of the 1989 film’s “Part Of Your World” and her original song, “For The First Time“.
The 23-year-old Grammy-nominated singer and actress is also set to star in the remake the 1985 classic film, The Color Purple alongside Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, H.E.R, Fantasia, and more on December 25.
